Hispanic Heritage Month

by Sawyer S.
Hispanic Heritage Month is an American celebration of Hispanic and Latino Americans. In between September 15-October 15 we celebrate the accomplishments of Hispanic Americans like Soto Mayor who was the first Hispanic Supreme Court Justice. Cuban, Puerto Rican, Mexican, Dominican, Brazilian, and Spanish Americans have accomplished amazing things in our country and I encourage you to celebrate them and their amazing doings.  I would like share some of these extraordinary people and what they have done.

José Echegary was the first Hispanic to ever win the Nobel Prize. He was rewarded the Nobel Prize foe literature in 1904.

Echegaray's most famous plays include The Avenger’s Wife, The Sword’s Handle, The Stake and the Cross, Conflict of Duties, Madman or Saint and Great Galeoto.

Banknote Spain 1000 Pesetas 1971

Another notable Hispanic is Octaviano Larrazolo

Also Susana Martinez was the first Hispanic governor in the United States.

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month Everyone! Please comment below of any notable Hispanic or Latino Americans you would like to add to the list.
