Star Wars The Force Awakens:
The Film For A New Generation

Not so long ago in a galaxy not so far away, a Star Wars film made one billion dollars in the box office its first week in theaters across the world.....

During the holiday break I was fortunate enough to see Episode Seven of the Star Wars saga, and I was blown away. If you read my review of The Martian you know that I am somewhat of a Sci-Fi geek. First of all, this is definitely the film that will reinvigorate the world with Star Wars mania, but it will also lead to the uprising of a whole new generation of Star Wars fans. The movie was amazing. Period. The premise of the movie surrounds the First Order, with their newfound leader Kylo Ren, attempting to gain total control of the Galaxy. But with any Star Wars film, there has to be heroes to stop the rise of evil, and these new heroes did not disappoint, especially BB-8. The conflict between good and evil is as present in this film as it has been in the past six Star Wars films. Over the course of holiday break I saw it not once, but twice, and thought that it was just as good the second time around as it was with the first. It was a perfectly made flick that paid homage to the ever so nostalgic original trilogy. Director J.J. Abrams cast the film perfectly for I couldn't imagine anybody more fit for the role of the heroine Rey than Daisy Ridley and rogue stormtrooper Finn played by John Boyega. Abrams chose a relatively unknown cast, as Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford were as well during the release of the first film, A New Hope. The new villain Kylo Ren was also pleasing to me as he was just as powerful in the ways of The Dark Side as his grandfather Darth Vader was. The ending will shock you and leave you wanting more. Although I was was skeptical at first of Disney's capability of continuing such a classic saga, I am now a thorough believer that Disney will continue to exceed my expectations. It was an overall great flick and will remain a classic for new generations to come.
